Message From the Commodore

February 23, 2018

Club Members,
The recent discussions and emails shared with only some of our Club Cruceros members make it difficult for the Club to prepare a statement to anything that is not a matter of record. As Commodore my focus in this message is only on the written request for transparency from Dennis Ross, the recommendations made to the Board in recent emails received by Club Cruceros, member recommendations made at the forum before the February General Meeting and the recommendations made during the meeting.
I feel confident that the response to Dennis’s request for transparency was adequately answered by the Board in the posted response on the website. The minutes of the February Board Meeting say that the response was to be prepared and posted on the website for the Board. That is my recollection as well. It was in the best interest of the Club to get this response posted to the website swiftly to give the members time to review it before the upcoming February General Meeting.
The General Membership passed a motion during that meeting to accept the Fashion Show funds allocation to building materials for the Villas de Guadalupe study center. I feel the Board and the Club have done more than enough to respond to the Dennis Ross request and would like to put the issue to rest.
Looking to the future we will prepare a list of the recommendations made by the members on the Villas de Guadalupe project and the other topics presented. These recommendations were received in recent emails to the Club, brought up at the forum and during the General Meeting. I will urge the Board to take this list very seriously at our next Board meeting and a plan for action will be formulated.
I thank all Club members and the La Paz fleet for their patience during this painful process.
